It’s beauty talk time for the month of April!
But first, have you read my top 5 high-end makeup products, the first installment of the new series here on the blog, Beauty Break, #1, read it here. For this month’s beauty spotlight, I’d like to present the Magic Serum that I’ve discovered last month and been using it religiously. And it has changed my life… I mean my skin… forever.

If you’re like me who take everyday skincare regimen serious, then you should really give this product a try. Don’t worry, I’m not one of those who does 10-step skincare routine or would spend $500 on a set of luxury skin products (well, at least not yet!), but I try to do at least 5 every night. Here is my routine: I usually double cleanse my face. For days that I have makeup on, I’d slather some cleansing cream or oil, let the makeup melt a bit, and then I wipe it all off with a wet wipe. Secondly, I use a liquid cleanser and water to make sure everything is off-my-face and neck. Then I’d brush my teeth and go back to my room for the next skincare steps. Remember Bioderma micellar water aka the magic water that everyone was talking about a few years ago? I could never seem to spend $40 for a bottle of ‘water,’ but I have found a cheaper drugstore alternative. So yes, applying micellar water is my 3rd step. I’ve found that using a cotton pad to apply is the most effective way. Next, I apply some toner, and of course, as the name suggests that it brings the skin’s pH level to its initial state and getting the skin ready to ‘drink up’ any products afterward. As I said, my routine only includes 5 steps, so this last step is obviously the moisturizing step! I’ve been switching up between Korres and Shiseido products for years. Again, I will have to do an updated skincare routine pretty soon since a lot has changed! If you’re curious in terms of what products I use specifically, let me know in the comment section below. Since this post is mainly dedicated to the Vitamin C serum, I shall talk more in depth about it below.

How I found out about this product was funny! At the end of my period last month, my skin was super dry, rough, and bumpy due to hormonal stress, lack of sleep, and overtime work schedule. I knew that my skin needed something else more. One night, I just did some internet searches for serums and Korean beauty products since they’re known for their skincare products. On Amazon, I saw this bottle of Vitamin C in the “customers who bought this also bought…” bar. Curious enough, I clicked on it to see what it was all about. It has about five thousand plus reviews. I read the product details and some more reviews and decided to buy it. I got the bigger sized bottle for less than $40, a 2oz. brown colored bottle, not bad at all! Plus Amazon prime ships things fast, so I got to try this product for over two weeks now!
According to the brand, it claims it is an anti-aging serum which “reduces the appearance of wrinkles, fine lines while helping to boost collagen, fade sun and age spot, improve skin firming, brightening, and tone for a smoother, fresher, more revitalized youthful complexion.” DOESN’T IT SOUND TOO GOOD TO BE TRUE? Remember I said my skin was very dry, rough, and bumpy to start with before? I now have woken up to a much softer and plumper skin thanks to this product! I’m not lying! It works!!! I have been literally telling my friends and coworkers about it. One thing I’ve noticed that it does ‘shrink’ my pores’ noticeably as well! They also claim to reduce acne scars, so if you do have active acnes or scars, please read more reviews before making a purchase. I feel like skin with acnes is a lot more sensitive, so use it at your own risk as I’m not a professional. But I’ve tried it on my skin and been using it every day ever since. And you know what else, I’ve not been wearing foundation at all, even to work or out and about. All I have on my face every day are just some sunscreen and concealer for spots and under-eye area.

the ingredients are listed, in the descending order of the amount of chemical they used. I wish to be more knowledgeable to better explain what exactly each chemical does, but I’m not a certified dermatologist nor have a Ph.D in chemistry, so sorry! My Bachelor’s degree in Chemsitry doesn’t help as much.

The serum has its own very distinctive but subtle chemical scent to it and is packaged in a brown bottle. I’m assuming it is sensitive to light, so make sure you store it in a cool area in the house. It comes with a dropper application, so I just directly drop the serum on my face, one on my forehead, one on each cheek and neck. It absorbs almost instantly into the skin, so make sure you massage it fast. And as always, don’t ever forget your neck. I’d like to use it right after my toner step and before my last moisturizing step.

You can buy it, here on Amazon! I sincerely hope you’ll give it a try and let me know how it goes! Thank you so much for reading. Please check back in a few days for another outfit pairing post for a monthly favorite post, of course, things I have been loving in the month of April.
