Happy Friday, everyone!

Last week, I was so lucky to have found two of the most hunt-after shirts that I had been looking for everywhere: a silk shirt and a white button down shirt. I’ve worn both of them, the white shirt from Frank & Eileen in the most recent blog post, here, and the silk shirt, featured in this post! The shirt is 100% silk, made by the fashion label Equipment. It was initially founded by a French designer, Christian Restoin, in 1976, but BCBG Max Azria Group empire had recently relaunched. It’s now based in L.A.

I’m one of those shoppers who look at the price tags, labels, brands, and fabric types before making any purchases. Besides that, I have a thing for ‘real’ material and a deep appreciation for fine craftsmanship. Real leather, 100% silk, handmade, hand-embroidered everything is what I’ve always sought after. I don’t mind paying a little extra nor spend a little more time to hunt for last-chance, usually one-of-a-kind, and sometimes damaged items but pay a fraction of its original cost.

What are your plans this weekend? I just flew in Seattle this morning, slightly sleep deprived. I was hoping to have this post up before I left, but packing took a little bit too long. I’m currently blogging at a local Starbucks in Mukilteo, WA, about 35 minutes North of Seattle. Spring is so pretty here. I’m quite late for the cherry blossoms, but there are so much greeneries, bushes after bushes of pretty flowers here. It’s been kind wet and rainy today, but it will be sunny tomorrow and Sunday. So I’m looking forward to that.

I hope you’ve enjoyed this outfit pairing. Let me know what other ways you’d style this silk shirt. I think the white skirt gives a really nice contrast to the solid black shirt with green and blue stripes. With silk shirts though, you’ve gotta be careful reading the care instructions before washing them since they don’t hold up shapes and integrity as well. I know designer pieces can sometimes be a hassle for the aftercare since you spend so much money on them already. I just don’t wash them often. Anyways, it’s all worth it in the end since they’ll last for years and years (and of course, with care!).
