Happy New Year, 2017!
New year comes with a fresh new mind. Cheers to many new beginnings in 2017, but let’s reflect on 2016, shall we?!
My 2016 was filled with so many firsts, lots of personal growth and strengthening my relationship with people.
Early in the year, after graduation with a Chemistry degree and many job applications, I struggled trying to figure out the next steps in life. I decided to travel to Washington, D.C, reconnected with one of my old friends who’s a local there, and we did a road trip to New York. I got to see the first Broadway show, “The Book of Mormon,” visited tons of well-known museums: the MOMA, the MET, the sex museum, and the Frick Collection, visited Brooklyn bridge, went to a first sample sale in New York, and many more. I fell in love with Central Park. The city of New York is by far the most amazing place I’d ever wanna be drown into. While I was in New York, I got my first job call confirming my work at a bone marrow company here in the Twin Cities, MN.
Summer was well spent with lots of water and sun festivities, and fall was breath-taking.
I got my first tattoos. I was a bridesmaid for the first time for one of my best girl friends’ wedding. I went on a short trip with grandma and aunt’s family to Duluth, our first family vacation after years. We had tons of fun! I went to see a psychic for the first time, and it was by far the most weirdly accurate experience ever. I officially got hired, enrolled in insurance and benefits at work, pretty adult-y and exciting. I did a last minute road trip to Chicago end of fall with a best guy friend. Little did I know, it was fate that we both fell in love again, not with anyone else, but with each other, at the most unexpected place and time. Fun fact, we traveled together to Chicago at exactly 3 years ago. He lived so far, yet he made the distance to never get in our way. We did another crazy road trip early December in 3 days to 4 states: Nevada, California, Oregon, and Washington. I went to my first outdoor music festival in Texas for Halloween with my best girl friend and loved it. For Christmas, I visited my uncles in Georgia. I went to Seattle and spent my New Years with the one and only love.
2016 was by far the best year of my life. For so many years, I had lived in fear and uncertainties. I never knew I’d be here doing whatever I’m doing a few years ago. I’m forever blessed to have the opportunity to travel places and do things I love to do. One of them I know for sure I love is doing anything creative and fashion-related. It’s humbling seeing the growth of my instagram, @antrieu, and my fashion blog, StyleAndSenses.com, so slowly but so surely. I would like to thank you all for reading the blog and liking the content I put out there.
It’s been an amazing 2016 with you all! 2017, I promise to bring a lot more quality fashion contents, so just you wait!
