→ Chao,

I’ve recently made a cheeky purchase from the Chanel counter inside Nordstrom. I was looking for just a small cardholder/coin purse that fits my small everyday Elliot Proenza Schouler bag I bought last year. I was debating between this cardholder versus this Saint Laurent which has extra compartment for coin (zipped slot).

Comparisions:

Pros: The Chanel cardholder is smaller, simple, and sleek. I love the gold CC against the grained black leather. However, the Saint Laurent one has more slots for cards and an extra compartment for coins, and it’s cheaper than the Chanel.

Cons: The Chanel one has only one slot in the front, 2 in the back, and a slightly bigger center slot for cash. The Saint Laurent one is flat and too long that I am afraid the edges might bend through time. Coins can do no good for leather.

  • I paid $429.10, about 7.25% tax, in Minnesota. The experience was pleasant cause the sale associate at the Chanel counter was quite nice. She congratulated me on my first Chanel purchase as she could tell how excited I was. She ended it with “there will be more to come!” True, true!
  • So why Chanel? I know for sure that Chanel items can be resold easily with a really competitive price. Check out: the RealReal for secondhand designer bags, or The Outnet or Barney Warehouse for sale designer clothes and shoes.

Hope you have a fantastic week!
