I was excited to open the box to see the engraving on my new JORD wooden watch, and it was a special moment. I chose to have my blog, ‘Style & Senses’ engraved, and it could not have been any more perfect to document my blogging journey.
Style & Senses was just an idea and a thought two years ago. I remembered sitting in the bedroom with my boyfriend who was just a friend at the time brainstorming a name for the blog. We often would spend hours talking about dreams and visions, my fashion dreams and his creative drive in photography and visual anything. I remembered saying out loud random words to describe my style and things I like, just to get a good catchy word or two for my blog’s name, and Style & Senses was born that night. Years before that, I signed up for a few blogging platforms to blog for fun, and I was so ready to have something that I call ‘mine.’ We bought a domain and a hosting and paid for the yearly fee, and I remembered waking up the next day with tears in my eyes knowing that my boyfriend had stayed up even later to put a design together and have it a running website already. I owned a blog! It was mine, and I got to do whatever I wanted. It was a really cool feeling! The first year of blogging was honestly a trial and error and practice year for me, from practicing the mindset of a blogger to learning how to work with brands. Through the years, I grew so much as a person, and so did the blog and the numbers of readers.
I can tell you that nothing comes easy in life, but that I will dedicate a personal blog post to share that with you. In all honesty and gratitude, I cherish every moment I get to sit down to write down my thoughts and share any creative projects that I get to work with cool brands with you guys!
EVERYTHING IS A COLLABORATIVE EFFORT.
I don’t take the all credit to me and my name. My boyfriend and I are a team. We live together as life partners, and he is also my business partner. We work hard and take in any opportunities and brand collaborations seriously. At the end of the day, one reason that keeps us working so hard from day 1, every damn day regardless of nights or weekends, is our shared passion: TO CREATE. We share a love for photography and design.
When JORD reached out to me for a second collaboration, I was so thrilled. This time, they let me pick out another favorite and even better, they offer engraving not only on the watch itself but also on the wooden box. I was gravitated toward the Frankie in Ebony and Gold right away since I knew I wanted a watch with a big round face, a darker colored band with gold hardware. My first JORD watch was the Cassia, and you can see how I styled it, here. Of course, that giveaway ended, but don’t you worry. I have another one coming up at the end of this blog post, so keep on reading to find out more!
Disclaimer: This post is written in collaboration with JORD. They kindly let me pick out a watch in exchange of a styled blog post and review with photos and a giveaway. I do not get paid nor earn any commissions if you purchase their watches. All opinions are my own.
IT DOESN’T LOOK LIKE IT’S MADE OUT OF WOOD!
My tiny wrist is the reason why I rarely wear bracelets or wrist accessories. I do own a few watches and wear them occasionally for events and on the weekend. The Frankie’s glass face is huge on my tiny wrist, but I love it. It adds a masculine touch to any girly outfits, minimal yet statement-making. The watch does smell funny, and that is probably the smell of the tung oil that JORD uses to pre-treat their watches. JORD recommends cleaning the watch with lemon or orange oil extract since it’s made out of natural wood. Avoid extreme storage conditions and long wear hours since humidity and sweat can affect the wood condition, of course!
Below is some technical information that would probably benefit some of you:
sapphire crystal glass
deployment buckle with push buttons
case width: 45mm
case thickness: 10.5mm
lug ends: 55mm
band thickness: 18mm
band length: 160mm
The natural ebony is hand finished and pretreated with tung oils.
The giveaway is pretty much similar to my previous collaboration with JORD. One winner will be chosen randomly and emailed, immediately after the giveaway ends.

Prize: $100 store credit to use on the JORD site.
