Happy Friday!

For day 8 of BEDS, I’m sharing with you two exciting news.

drum roll, please!!!!

* I WROTE AN ARTICLE FOR A FASHION MAGAZINE! *

You’ll have to scroll down to read more about it at the end of this post. And I’ll also have a direct link to where you can get a hand on the copy of the magazine in case you’re interested in purchasing one!

Meanwhile. please enjoy this outfit pairing featuring everything favorite of mine.

The denim jacket is my new addition this summer. I’m well-prepared for fall and the back-to-school season. *Hint: it’s mentioned in the article that I wrote for that fashion magazine. I found it while browsing the Free People store at the Mall of America a few months ago. I was never lucky enough to be able to find one at the thrift stores as many people suggested. I had been on a hunt for a denim jacket for awhile and didn’t mind paying a hundred bucks for it either. It’s from Levi’s but sold at Free People. Irony enough that even Levi’s store upstairs at the MOA didn’t carry any cool stuff. I’d checked. I had to come back to get this jacket the next day because I couldn’t stop thinking about it after seeing and knowing its existence.

OUTFIT DETAILS: jacket: Levi’s (the exact jacket is the first one linked below) | LBD: H&M (old, cool ones are linked below) | bag: Gucci (style sold out, mine was the last one in store at Nordstrom) | pointed heels: Vince (also bought them last year on sale at a local outlet)

You can purchase the magazine FALL ISSUE, here. They also have a PDF version available.

Here is a little preview of the magazine, my article is on page 94, titled ‘Style & Senses.’

If you’re interested in having your own copy, please do! I got to meet in person the editor-in-chief of The Volk, Meghanlee, her husband and their cute little baby girl as well as Michaela who’s also a part of the executive team. It was lovely to hear their stories and how much The Volk has evolved through the years. I’m so thrilled and touched to even be asked to contribute, in writing, to a very good cause. Everyone who put their time, effort and talents in making this magazine published has been doing it for FREE. The magazine features local artists in the Twin Cities, from hair and makeup artists, photographers, models, bloggers, brands etc. And the numbers of people who have contributed in making this happened blow my mind. And it keeps getting bigger! They contacted me and asked if I could write a fashion article for their fall/back-to-school issue. And of course, I said Yes! The article took me about 2 weeks from brainstorming ideas to the finished rough draft. Since it’s my first published writing, I’d decided to go for a story telling route, personal. And I thought it was more approachable that way.

I hope you’ll have a look and thank you if you’ll ever decide on purchasing. It’s all for a good cause.

Again, I’m eternally grateful for such amazing opportunity. If you ever decide to have a copy of the magazine and read my article, a takeaway is that ‘I hope my story will inspire y’all to always say YES and go out there pursuing your dreams. I hope you do what you love and love what you. Good things happen to those who hustle!’

Thank you so much for reading.

stay inspired | as always
