Hello and welcome back to another beauty post! I’m so excited to finally get to share with you some more of my absolute favorite skincare and makeup products that I’ve acquired from Sephora recently. As far as beauty products, I know they are not the cheapest things out there, so make sure you do research about the brand and know your skin needs before making any purchases! I have said this before, I really don’t mind paying a bit more or invest in products that are well-made and made from ingredients that I can pronounce. I am not a beauty expert, but I know my skin and what works for me. So if you’re interested in knowing 10 more makeup and skincare products that I absolutely love and recommend, please keep on reading!
This $39 pot of banana candy smelling eye cream is actually legit.
I got this recommendation from IntoTheGloss’s top 25 can’t-go-wrong products of 2018, and you can browse the list here. Ole drew inspiration for creating this eye cream from many makeup artists’ secret: banana powder (thanks to its brightening effect!). Its tinted yellow color also makes it the perfect under-eye/dark-circle canceling or correcting property. It instantly masks and brightens the under-eyes, hence, many makeup artists like to apply it on models and clients right before they apply concealer. I don’t often notice any effect or change from using eye creams, but I’ve hopped on the eye cream and skincare wagon since my late teens. At the time, I was testing out this eye cream from a new K-brand. They sent me two tubes of eye cream to try out, and I woke up with super tight and itchy skin. I also saw some tiny red bumps, and those were clearly signs of irritation and dehydration. I had to stop using it immediately, unfortunately. And then Ole’s banana eye cream came to the rescue! I noticed the difference in right on the next day. To be honest, I don’t like the banana powder scent. It smells like kids’ candy or ice cream (like a cheap kind, recalled from my childhood!), but I really don’t mind it at all. An be warned that the pot is tiny!
I swear by this stuff! This is probably my third or fourth tube of eye primer that I’ve consistently purchased throughout the years.
I have really dry skin, but at the end of the day, my eyelids and T-zone get really oily. I have tried so many eye primers before, and this one works best at keeping my eyelids oil-free all day. It is light weight, comes out in white but rubs in clear and non-sticky. The applicator is like a normal lip gloss with an angled spongy tip. I love that it doesn’t contain any fragrance, hence, no irritation. I’ve worn makeup for over 12 hours many times before, and this primer for sure helps keeping my eye shadows stay on and smudge free all day. This tube is probably my 5th one ever since, and my opinion does not change. It is one of a few products that I use every single day, and I’d highly recommend!
I have deeper complexion compared to a lot of Asian ladies out there. So when it comes to bronzing products, I always make sure that the colors and pigments are there. If anything, I can use less and blend it out well. Anyways, this cream stick bronzer is called Blaze- deep bronze and is surprisingly creamy and pigmented. I only need to swipe it once on the hollow of each cheek, once along each jawline, and 4 tiny dots along the rim of my forehead. Then I use a dense brush to blend it out but still trying to spread it too much. This is to ensure that I don’t move or remove my foundation underneath. The only complain that I have is its weird plastic or Play-do smell. I’ve always been a cream products since they melt and look so nice on the skin. This one is the only cream bronzer I have bought and loved ever since!
This is the 90’s brown shade, called UNVEIL, and OMG! I’M OBSESSED!
I will eventually collect all shades from this Stunna Lip Paint lines. I love its weightless and long wearing formula. It coats the lips so evenly and quickly in just a few swipes. The tip applicator is not your average sponge, and I’m not quite sure what it but it feels sort of rubbery that helps with very precide application. The formulation is quite watery, but it does not feather out. It’s a liquid lip formulation, but it does not dry out my lips at all. Very weird! I love all Fenty products’ packaging, and this one is no exception. It comes in a glass container that looks just like a nail polish bottle. It is heavy, so I know I cannot carry many of these around. However, its formulation is so long lasting that I only need to reapply once throughout the day and only after eating.
This tube of CC/Color Correcting cream goodness is also another amazing find towards the end of 2018 that I’m so happy about.
I bought almost all of these new products using the 20% VIB Rouge sale, and I’m so glad I did. This one is one of many it cosmetics’ best selling and award winning products. It is on a slightly thicker size compared to many BB and CC creams I’ve tried before. Even though I don’t usually go for thick coverage products on the daily basis, but it helps my skin tremendously on days that it is extra dry and fatigue. What I love the most is the fact that it contains SPF 50+ UVA/UVB broad-spectrum physical sunscreen, and I love it for days that I don’t do heavy physical activities like going to work. I’ve heard some people complain about it being sticky, but with a light layer of powder on top, I don’t even notice it at all! So depending on how my skin feels and needs that day, I alternate and change up what product to put on my face. This one is great for day time use, of course, and daily work makeup. It comes in a tube with a pump, how genius!
This Ouai wave spray really does its job at giving my hair that natural beachy texture that is not crunchy and drying!
I got the recommendation from one of my favorite girls on Instagram, Gabriella, and I’m obsessed with her hair. We met once once last year when I went back to Minnesota to visit my family. I couldn’t find her IG at the moment, but hers is @shopsalatte. She shared her tip for having such gorgeous bouncy voluptuous hair is to not use conditioner. She said she used the most drying shampoo that she got from Whole Food, and she swore by this Ouai wave spray for giving her hair that amazing volume. And the smell is her favorite! I ignored using conditioner for awhile after that, but recently I had to pick it up again since my scalp got so dry. But again, it’s all up and depends on your hair texture and what type of hair you have, and you might like or not like this product. My hair is naturally straight and fine, so I have to use a lot of this in order to achieve the volume and texture that I like. I go through this bottle so quickly, and for that reason I’m still on the hunt for a more affordable salt sprays out there. But for now, this one does the job!
Ok, what I’m holding is the tiny sample pot I got from product purchase at Sephora, and you can and should get the full sized here.
I love Sephora samples! But really, I don’t even remember the last time when I buy makeup remover. I had been using the old-school Pond’s cold cream to melt off my makeup first, and then I go over my entire fact with a cotton square soaked in a water-based cleanser. The Pond’s cold cream is very inexpensive, however it can sometimes be messy and leaves my skin quite oily afterwards. It works for me since I like the feeling of makeup being melted away than using a wipe. A bottle of a water-based cleanser is not too expensive either, and my favorite currently is the Bioderma micellar water. I hope to do an updated skincare routine soon, but for now just know that I do this water-based cleansing step after the shower! If you’ve missed my last 10 Amazon beauty buys, you can read it here since I’ve featured the Bioderma there! And ever since I discovered this Clinique cleansing balmy pot, it has completely replaced my Pond’s cold cream! It is much less greasy and melts off my makeup so quickly! I highly recommend!!!
My face loves this stuff!
It is like putting on some high quality whipped yogurt on my face. I am sure I will run out of this moisturizer pretty soon here since I feel like the more the better with this kind of product! I’ve on my second tub of the other Sephora’s best selling moisturizer: Drunk Elephant Lala Retro (the purple one!), and the Fresh one is much lighter in consistency compared to the Drunk Elephant (DE) one! But I like to alternate between the two at the moment. I use the Fresh moisturizer in the morning, and the DE at night since it’s thicker and has more oil feel to it. I also use it at night or pretty much whenever I feel like to. They both smell so subtle and pleasantly soothing! Highly recommend!!!
If you have dry and damaged/colored hair and are in need for something lightweight and smells amazing, then this Sunflower conditioner is for you!
Kielh’s was founded in New York in 1851, such a long time ago right?! Kielh’s has combined its rich heritage of old-world apothecary to make some of the most effective skincare out there. It’s making a huge come-back and becoming quite popular expanding from men’s to women’s skincare and beauty products in general. I added this conditioner to my cart just because it had sunflower in it. I’m pretty sure I read some news articles, and someone suggested it! This conditioner is infused with sunflower oil, apricot, and a blend of vitamin B3, B5, and B6, and a UV-protective filter. It gives my hair instant smoothness and shine with just a small of product used, and the smell was surprisingly good! Again, I don’t like lots of strong fragrance smells, but this one smells so good! Remember to only use a small amount each time and focus it on the ends only!
If you watch Youtube videos as often as I am, I am sure you are aware of this famous lipstick, shade Pillow Talk from Charlotte Tilbury.
Charlotte Tibury had recently launched her line at Sephora, and I had to jump in the band-wagon and ordered this lipstick, just because! This nude shade is on a slightly pinky side like your lip but better kind of shade, and that explains why it is so well-loved by so many people. I personally prefer something that lasts longer like a liquid lipstick formulation, however, it is still nice to have one of these laying around the house and sitting in my purse. It comes in handy when there is no mirror accessible. It instantly adds life into my dry and cracked lips, hah! Try it at a Sephora near you, and you will know what I’m talking about! It’s a matte but not-drying at all! Love the pop of copper/rose gold shade of the packaging too!
