Project 5, as introduced in my previous blog post, is a new series here on the blog where I test wear, style, and review at least 5 items from a brand or from a clothing category. I will only feature items that meet criteria like basics, essentials, minimal styles, and items that rarely go on sale.
I did a poll a few weeks ago on Insta-stories introducing Project 5 as well as asking what brands you’d like me to feature first, and a lot of you requested Everlane. Over the past year or so, I have bought quite a few numbers of items from Everlane, so I know how things generally fit and feel like! There are things I have returned, have worn, washed and loved! So here are my top 5 items you should own from Everlane! (For now! There will be a part 2 coming up in a near future date, so stay tuned!)
For reference, I’m 5ft5 and weigh 110 lbs. I wear tops and dresses size 0-2 or XS-S, jeans size 25, and 7.5 in shoes.
Fabric/Material: 100% Italian leather
Made in: Montopoli in Val D’Arno, Italy
Fit: True to size (I ordered size 7.5)
Review: Since these are made from soft leather and supposed to mold into your foot, they are prone to scratches and exterior damage. The 2” heels are a comfortable heel height, and I also adore the center seams and the side zippers. However, with the side zipper and the roomy boot openings, the leather pull tabs are unnecessary features that I wish Everlane did not include.
I chose these boots in ecru (a light yellow color) knowing spring is around the corner. I love that the toe part is not too pointy nor too rounded, so they are super day-appropriate just like their name. They fit snuggly and are really comfortable to walk in, all day. They look great in any light spring colorful outfit pairings! I highly recommend!
Color: Washed black
Fabric/Material: 98% cotton, 2% elastane from premium 11 oz Japanese denim
Made in: Bien Hoa, Vietname (my hometown! wooh!)
Fit: Straight fit
Review: 11” rise, 28.5” inseam, 14” leg opening (size 24). I’m wearing size 24, a size smaller than my regular jeans size. They fit perfectly, So the reviews are correct, size down! These fit super high-waisted and have a very flattering fit all throughout. Their high waisted skinnies used to be my favorite, and you can read my blog post that I reviewed them, here.
I know that washing jeans are not a recommended thing, but I have washed the skinny ones a couple of times. They make from the exact same material as these cheeky ones, fyi! And they do get baggy around the butt area. I have not washed these yet, but I think I won’t be able to notice the stretch as much since they are not as fitted compared to the skinny jeans. Plus these are the washed black version which means they have already been dyed and faded to have that worn-in look.
I love letting the hem down all the way for a longer elongated leg look or fold up the hem twice when worn with sneakers. They are currently sold out in a few popular sizes and colors, but I highly recommend you add them or the ’90s cheeky straight in the waitlist. They’re affordable and ethically made, what else do you wish for?
OUTFIT DETAILS: striped turtleneck: JCREW | trench coat: ZARA | boots: COS | white sweater: UNIQLO U | tan suede boots: ZARA | cap: H&M
Color: Buffed white
Fabric/Material: 100% Italian leather

Review: I did size 0.5 size up! I got size 8 since I wanted the shoes to cover my entire feet! These are an easy pair of loafer, easy to style and quick to be out of the door! They can be dressed down or can make an outfit look polished. I love that these have very comfortable padded inner soles and sturdy heels. I am not the most careful person when it comes to footwear, and I’ve gotta appreciate pointy toe parts which have definitely protected the leather from getting scuffed up many times. The 3/4” stacked heels also add the needed height! Again, I cannot recommend Everlane shoes enough!!!
OUTFIT DETAILS: chambray jumpsuits: UO | white dress: UO | white tank: BRANDY MELVILLE | striped tote: SEZANNE | black bodysuit: FREE PEOPLE | blue floral skirt: UO | black bag: KOZHA NUMBERS
Color: Pale pink
Fabric/Material: 100% silk
Made in: Nanchong, China
Fit: Relaxed fit
Review: Silk shirts are my go-to when it comes job related occasions such as interviews, presentations, meetings, etc. Forget those floral fancy blouses that can age you years, button downs with soft fabric like silk in neutral colors are the safe options for you to ALWAYS have in your closet! Trust me, you will need it! This shirt has a traditional point collar and round hem that looks good as is, front tucked in, or tucked in all the way in jeans or any kind of dressed pants. Everlane uses Eco-conscious silk, Clean silk, so it feels good. A closet staple!!!
Color: Golden Brown
Fabric/Material: 97% cotton, 3% elastane
Made in: Jiangmen, China
Fit: Straight leg, high-waisted, slightly cropped length
Review: I am wearing size 00, the smallest size offered at Everlane. Size down since these do stretch out with wear! These 00 surprisingly still fit slightly loose on me! I have a smaller waist, flat butt yet the wide hip bones do make me look like I have bigger bottoms. I have a blog post reviewing these pants, read here! Even though the review was not 100% positive. I still highly recommend these to you guys! I have chunkier thighs and prefer pants to be slightly tapered towards the ankles (to help with the taller illusion, of course!), straight legs do not really flatter my body type. However, I’ve gotta admit that these are so comfortable and stretchy. In addition, the super high waist and the back pockets are really the seling points for me! In fact, they really flatter the bum (make them look good, you know!). They are a great pair of work and weekend pants! Stock up in multiple colors!
OUTFIT DETAILS: white shirt: TRADLANDS (gifted) | black cropped sweater: UO | leather jacket: ALLSAINTS | sock boots: ASOS | tote: REALISATION PAR | brown belt: UNIQLO
Everlane is pretty good at adding closet staples and essential pieces (that make you feel like you NEED them!) every occasion and season. I know that I am going to and will add more Everlane pieces into my ever-growing basic collection. I am test wearing their white T-shirt, and it has been going great so far! Now I just need to wash it and see how it holds up after. Hopefully, I will be able to have the second Project 5 featuring my 5 best white T-shirts up shortly for you guys!
