New Jeans

I’d like to think I’ve been very lucky with my jeans shopping in the past couple of weeks. Recently, Levi’s has launched their Made & Crafted spring and summer 2020 collection, and these Column jeans have really inspired me to start making videos for my Youtube channel again. So, some of you might have guessed it right that my upcoming video will be a jeans-relate one. I will be sharing my top high-waisted jeans and answering your questions submitted on my IG-stories. So please be patient as the editing really takes a while.

So for now, I am sharing 3 pairs of jeans that I have been wearing non-stop and am obsessed with! Give them a try in-store or wear them around at home if you order them online to make sure they fit before purchasing. Most importantly, be patient because a good pair of jeans really takes time! Let me know if you have any fit or sizing questions as I’d love to help you find the perfect pair for your body.

1. Levi’s Made & Crafted The Column Women’s Jeans

Here is the story! I initially bought these from the Net A Porter website thinking they would be about 30 inches inseam. Knowing that these Column jeans run big, I got size 24 in the waist. They fit me great except the fact that they are just an inch too short for my liking. Turned out, Net A Porter sent me those in 24×27 because the tag did say so. I contacted customer service, and they seemed to not very aware of the typo they have on the website. I sent them back!

Levi’s Made & Crafted is a modern twist on classic styles, and this season, there is a lot of oversized or loser fits with focus on sustainable material. Mine is The Column, and they are back in stock right now on the Levi’s website!

Shortly after that, I found out on the Levi’s website that they make these Made & Crafted Column jeans in 2 inseam lengths: 27 and 30. I ordered a pair in 25×30 and then 24×30. Both of those did take a while to be delivered to me but I was happy to finally end the hunt for the perfect size: 24×30. Then you know what, the zipper pull broke on the second day. So sad, but at least Levi’s customer service was quick to respond and I got a refund for those.

So again, please size down and go with the inseam that best suits your body. 27 will be ideal for those who have a more petite frame. I am 5ft5 and weigh 120lbs, and my regular jeans size is 25 in the waist. I’d prefer my jeans to be a bit longer than having them too short.

The Column size 24×30 fits me perfectly as the hem hit right below my ankle when worn with heels, and with even with sneakers, they don’t drag on the ground at all. The leg is definitely more tapered, very flattering on! Regardless of the fact that they’re made from 100% organic cotton, they feel super comfortable on. Color is Indigo Valley Medium wash, and they are made in Turkey. I love the high waist, straight leg, dad jeans fit, and how perfectly vintage-looking blue they are! The crotch does not dig in, and they fit so comfortably all throughout.

2. Levi’s Wedgie Fit High-waist Ankle Jeans

Levi’s Wedgie is probably the most talk-about style of Levi’s in recent years. I have been getting a ton of DMs about trying these Wedgie Fit jeans out and trust me, I have before but no luck.

A couple of weeks ago, I found these Levi’s Wedgie Fit in Bright Side at the Nordstrom store in Tacoma. After trying on a few Levi’s sizes and styles available in-store, 24 in waist definitely fit me much better. They are not as high-waisted compared to the other 2 pairs of jeans in this post, but I’d say they are borderline high-waisted on me. Keep in mind that these are Levi’s Wedgie, not Wedgie Straight because those do not fit me well. Plus I am kinda over that raw hem that the Wedgie Straight has at this point.

These retail for $98, definitely a premium price for Levi’s jeans in general, but I think prices are subjective. I’d recommend you to wait for their sale, but keep in mind that popular styles and colors might not be in stock anymore.

3. Uniqlo U Women U Wide-fit Curved Jeans

I get so jealous because of the fact that the UNIQLO U collection this S/S 2020 for Men’s is too good. It was launched mid-day on February 21, and I did not have time to add anything in my cart. Stuff I had eyes on ended up being sold out so quickly, so I gave up on browsing their site. Luckily, I managed to check out the Uniqlo store in Bellevue the next day and found these jeans! Stores in Seattle (the Bellevue Square and South Center locations) have very limited stock when it comes to cool designer collabs or Uniqlo U collection which is now a seasonal thing that Uniqlo does now.

I tried on a few things and ended up going home with these jeans and a pair of wide-curvy fit (very similar to these but jersey material) white pants. You can see how those fit on me, here.

These jeans have a very similar fit to the Levi’s Made & Crafted Column except the legs are a bit looser. They look so cool paired with tighter fitted tops and sneakers and waist 24 fits me perfectly. I also love this light-medium wash, however, in terms of fabric, it’s not the thickest or best quality denim fabric I’ve seen. But for $30, these are a steal!

Let me know which jeans are your favorite in the comment section below! It’s my first day of working from home, so I have a corner set up and ready to tackle this 2-week WFH. I’ve determined and committed to really stay in. With the fridge sorta stocked, I am hoping that I don’t go too crazy! I hope wherever you are, please stay safe and healthy! Eat good and healthy food. Sleep well. And call your loved ones!
