Asymmetrical, Ruffled and Striped

A few weeks ago, as I was browsing the sale section at the Free People store, Mall of America, I found this asymmetrically ruffled shirt on sale for $19.99. I was kinda confused as to what it was initially. Then the sale associate told me that it was a top, worn off-one-shoulder. To be honest, I’ve never liked things that are asymmetrical on me fashion-wise. I tried it on anyways. To my surprise, the shirt was super flattering and cool looking on, so I bought it but was unsure of how I’d style it.

This outfit, yet again, was another spontaneous styling idea that spotted on right at the moment when I was out shooting last week. I paired the soft flowy ruffled shirt with a pair of structured and striped pants I bought last winter season at Jcrew. They were the black label ones with ridiculously high priced tags, but I remembered that I didn’t pay much for those. It’s one of those things that if you’re a frequent shopper and longtime fan at J-crew, you’d notice that they make clothes size XXS or 000 that no one would fit and then were put in the extra sale rack. I sometimes find the cut of those items to be hit-and-miss, and in this case, luckily they fit me. It never hurts to try them on when you’re at J-crew. Recently, I’ve heard quite a few sad news concerning about Jcrew ‘s major changes. The most recent one was the leaving of Jenna Lyons, creative director, president, and the brand’s most iconic spoke-model. She left after working for J.Crew for 25 years. in addition, J.Crew chief executive and chairman Mickey Drexler has left his position as CEO after 14 years in the role. Some other news that are not new included plunging and declining sales. Let’s just hope that they won’t go out of business anytime soon, guys!

I hope you’ve enjoyed the outfit pairing and photos as much as I loved styling them. I almost forgot to mention the Star earrings. I’m obsessed! The earrings are actually asymmetrical as well, and I don’t think there are any photos that show both next to each other. Anyways, I hope y’all doing well. I hope to get a Travel Diary, the LA version, up soon for you guys sometimes next week. I just got back yesterday and am still in the process of recovering. The 2-hourr difference really makes a difference, and it is really messing up with my body. But it was all worth it though! Meanwhile, enjoy the beautiful warm weather wherever you are! Summer is quickly approaching!

I couldn’t love this outfit anyone. My only wish is that I’d stumbled across your post days ago when I was prepping for tonight’s Belgrade photo shoot! But…that doesn’t mean I can’t plan ahead and get it for the next one!
