One of my favorite way to summer pairing is to pair a simple black or white body-con fitted top (bodysuit, in this case) to a colored or patterned pair of pants or skirt, preferably the thin flowy fabric ones. You can go back to my old outfit pairings here on the blog or scroll down to my old Instagram posts years ago and can easily spot the same pairing strategies.
A few weeks ago, I packed along these flowy palazzo styled pants and this bodysuit to LA. I bought the pants years ago from Pacsun, back when they used to carry the Gypsy Warrior brand at the Mall of America. The bodysuit, if you’re a true fan of American Apparel like I am, you’d recognize it right away. I was introduced to AA’s bodysuit dressing and they’re now no longer available. It was so sad to drive by their HQ in LA when I was there because I was such a big fan of the brand. Honestly, I was hooked on their stuff for quite awhile, especially their bodysuits. I love to pair a tight fit top with some flowy or structured bottoms. I think that shape is really flattering.
I have attempted to wear the same pairing multiple times in the past. However, the weather and fashion in the Midwest have always been the barrier. The pants’ fabric is too sheer to wear them alone. The bodysuit has a very low cut that I couldn’t wear any bras nor padding underneath. I mean I’ve worn it out without any bras and felt just fine. Together, the bodysuit and a pair of sheer pants are not a very good combo to wear out in the streets here, to be honest. However, I’d had the vision to wear this pairing for so long, and I was so glad that I did.
I hope that you’ve enjoyed this outfit pairing. This photo series was shot at the Arch Rock in Joshua Tree National Park. I’m so determined to come back here very soon, for sure to camp here for at least a night. There were so many people who drove their vans and set up their tents there. The hike from where we parked to the Arch Rock was only 1/2 of a mile, and kids and dogs were allowed. It was very cool being surrounded by such amazing God-sent views
I have a wedding to go to this weekend and another one next week. My boyfriend is also in town for both weddings, so I’m very excited for that. We’re planning to shoot a lot contents for the blog and Instagram, including some exciting collabs that I can’t wait to share them with you! So stay tuned! Thank you so much for reading!
