Happy Friday!!! I’m back with another food/outfit post, and you’re getting two posts in a day!
I was just going through my camera roll this morning, and tons of photos from my California trip back in June popped up. I have been so busy and haven’t had time to blog all of the outfits yet. I will, slowly though, I promise!
On the same topic like my previous post which I uploaded just a few hours ago, I introduced StyleAndSensesEATS, a new segment on the blog where I’ll be sharing with you cool places with note-worthy food, either it’s a restaurant or an event somewhere along my wandering paths aka travels. If you’ve missed my first StyleAndSensesEATS post, you can catch up, here. I also share an outfit pairing that I’ve worn each time in hope to inspire you to have fun dressing up or down, even if you’re just out and about getting food.
EVERY SUNDAY 10 AM. – 4 PM.
785 Bay St, Los Angeles, CA 90021
Born in Brooklyn, Smorgasburg is an open-air five-acre market located in a parking lot near the Row, DTLA.
I found out about this market while Insta-searching for Instagram-able cool looking food. There were a tons of awesome accounts when it comes to food and cool places, especially in LA. Smorgasburg’s food photos kept coming up in my search, so I knew I had to make it there. The market was next to the American Apparel HQ. It’s so sad to drive by and see how empty and sad the buildings looked. The parking ramp offered the first hour parking for free which was nice. We ended up spending a little bit more than an hour there since the lines to any food trucks were so long.
What we ordered:
Shrimp, rice, and Macaroni & cheese in a pineapple from Shrimp Daddy, $16 & $4 for the pineapple itself.
Pork belly taco from Goa taco, they roasted the pig right in front of their truck, pretty interesting to watch, very fast service.
Shaved ice from the stand next to Shrimp Daddy, this was ok, not the best!
Despite the crazy long lines everwhere, Smorgasburg is a must-visit food market if you want a full LA experience. I’d recommend arriving early to avoid LA traffic. We got in and out within 1 and a half hour, impressive! Parking was free, so it was nice! There were a lot of people taking photos and looking at their phones or taking photos of their cool-looking food. It’s all about who has the best photo and who has those hashtags down.
the floral set (pijama styled shirt and shorts): H&M (currently on sale in stores) | tube top: Boohoo (bought from the ASOS website) | choker: Zara | mules: ASOS
The rest of the photos in this post was shot at the Windmill farm, near Palm Springs.
I hope you’ll have an amazing weekend! And thank you so much for reading! I’m off to shoot a lot of content for the blog and Instagram this weekend. So stay tuned!
