Tie-Front Sweater Dress & New Gucci Bag

Hello, everyone! We are in the third week of April already. How fast! How was your Easter weekend?

I got to spend two full days, Saturday and Easter Sunday, with my loved ones. My boyfriend was in town. We went driving around downtown and uptown area, scouting for cool locations, took a few outfit photos, and ate so much good food. We got to watch a movie together, another psychological thriller, added to the favorite list, GET OUT. It was so good! It was funny how my boyfriend would just stand right outside of the restroom looking into the mirror where I was doing my makeup in the morning or brushing my teeth at night. He would keep staring until I noticed. And I squealed. It was just really funny and stupid!

Saturday, we went shopping for some Converse shoes. I got a pair of the classic white hi-top after months of debating whether or not I would be able to style them without looking like a high school kid. DSW was having a $20 off shoe credit if we spent $75 that day. So my boyfriend got himself a pair of classic black ones and myself a pair of white ones, to match. Funny! I ended up wearing them right away! He wanted the Chuck II, but we couldn’t find any in store. I had to stop by Nordstrom Rack since I was there a few days ago and found out about their sale event, last day was that Saturday. They were also having huge clearance, 25% off everything and 50% dresses with red tags. I was so lucky to find this front tie sweater dress, worn here, in the messy sale racks for less than $25. I didn’t even try it on since we ran out of time. But it ended up fitting so nicely.

Later that afternoon, we made a visit at the American Swedish Institute. I was able to get in using my student ID, so I paid $5 per ticket, half off. The exhibitions, in my opinion, were somewhat ok. I love how they had the actual clothing pieces that were shot artistically by these Swedish artists. The decors were pretty cute as well. However, honestly, I’ve been to better museums and art houses in New York. But I guess the ASI was that bad for the price in the Midwest. You guys should check it out! I shot two outfits here, and this outfit was one of them.

Then we were headed home for a quick outfit change for Easter Vigil mass. It was more than 2 hours long. I then took my boyfriend to Revival in St. Paul for some authentic yummy Southern food.

Then on Sunday, we met up with a close friend of mine and her boyfriend for lunch. We went to Peninsula, a pretty well-known Malaysian restaurant in uptown, Eat Street area. The food was great! I was able to get two more outfit shots done later that day before heading back home for dinner. We took the kids out for some bubble tea drinks and strolled around the U of M campus.

A few weeks ago, I stopped by Nordstrom and picked up this Gucci bee bag after months and months of research and saving. I knew I wanted a designer bag, something small but dressy a bit for the future wedding events. And I kept finding myself going back to the Gucci site. Everything Gucci is very trendy right now, I understand, but I’d like to go for something a bit more classic and that it wouldn’t go out of style so fast. I knew I wanted some embroidery work (big fan!), either a bee, some roses, or just a plain GG canvas one. Funny when I saw this bag sitting in the corner of the Gucci store, I immediately asked the sale associate to let me try it on. I was sold! I remembered it took me less than 30 seconds to make the decision to purchase it. And I love everything about it! <3 I love how there are two little metal stars at the corners, the green and red classic Gucci strip, and a golden embroidered bee right in the middle. And it is a canvas one! Ah, it was destiny!

The bag was the last one in store, and unfortunately it isn’t available online anymore either. Sorry! But well, Gucci is killing it this season with the new canvas bags with embroidery details. Don’t you agree? I have attached a few other options at the end of this post. So check it out!
