For the month of February, I’ve taken full advantage of Rent The Runway‘s rental services and got a handful of pretty good clothes to try out different looks. Rent The Runway review including all of the pieces I’ve picked out will be up later this week, but for now, you can try their UNLIMITED plan for $100 off this month of March if you use my code: RTRAN.
Now, let’s get to what pieces I’ve added into my new Capsule Wardrobe this year, shall we?
Just like my first Capsule Wardrobe Diary post back in January, I will be updating you with the best pieces of clothing that I have acquired and truly think will last in my wardrobe forever.
I had been eyeing these trousers from Toteme for the past 2 seasons before I decided to invest in them on the very last day of the Ssense Winter sale this past January. They were 30% off, so I paid $189, quite expensive still for a pair of 100% polyester pair of pants. One thing I noticed about Toteme and many of their clothes: lots of polyester content in their fabric choices, and that had been the reason why I hesitated spending my money on.
These Novara trousers have a wide shape and slightly tapered at the ankle with their signature twisted seams and a cropped length. I love how Toteme makes pairing these kinds of trousers and very slouchy dad fit jeans with square-toed flats or kitten heel flip flops. They are lightweight, so I have to really take good care of them. I don’t plan to wear them to work or lounge in them because I have many trousers for those occasions. These are reserved more for events or special occasions.
I’m glad these trousers have worked out nicely into my wardrobe, and I’ve gotten a few compliments wearing them. They also come in other colors and types of fabrics: leather, khaki crepe, bouclé tweed. and cream cotton-blend. Highly recommend waiting for the Spring sale on Ssense and pick these up when they’re on sale. Toteme seems to keep them in their permanent collection, so they might be sold out quite fast if they’re ever on sale again.
I was sent this Cashmere Crew by the Everlane’s marketing team, pretty cool because this was my second time working with them on some Instagram and linking product on my blog type of collaboration. See my first Everlane collab, here.
The sweater is soft, warm, and lightweight. For spring, it’s perfect to wear as is tucked into your favorite trousers or jeans.
I’ve picked out the navy which is a dark navy, very closed to black, and size M for a slightly oversized fit. And I think I can even go for an L or XL in these! It’s made from 100% grade-A Cashmere with trimmings that are made from 90% grade-A Cashmere, 9% nylon, and 1% elastane. The long cuffs can be extended or worn folded, and I especially love how effortlessly chic cashmere looks and feels on the body. I’d totally slowly invest in these cashmere crews in black, cream, gray, and camel. So good!

It’s my work bag now, and I am so happy to see that it works out very nicely. I’ve thrown my lunch, groceries, and lots of random stuff in there, and it’s been holding up. It’s quite sturdy, surprisingly. I don’t notice the plastic smell anymore. There’s a small scratch at the TF logo in the front, but I don’t sweat little things like that so much. I just know that I love it so much and cannot recommend it enough!
My navy medium size is currently sold out, but many other colors are available here.
Hope you guys are taking good care of yourself. I know many of you are concerned about the fact I live in Seattle and the ‘coronavirus epidemic center’ is not so far away from here. To be honest with you, I try not to let it affect me so much as I still have to go to work since my job is very tactile. I still go out to eat and go get groceries as normal even though the streets are pretty empty and quiet for once. Hope you’re staying safe and taking care of yourself well. Hope you’ve enjoyed this week’s post. Talk soon!
