Korakia Pensione, Palm Springs – Travel California

Last month, I got a chance to visit Palm Springs, California, for a day. Well, it wasn’t quite a full day, but we got the best out of our tightly packed schedule. And I loved every minute of it. You can read my Travel Diary, the summer California at the end of this post if you’ve missed it.

We stopped by the Moorten Botanical Garden which I haven’t blogged about this one yet and this cute little hotel resort located right in the heart of downtown Palm Springs. Since we shot an outfit pretty much at every cool location, I’d like to post the photos of it one outfit per occasion, so hope you’ll come back for more.

If you’ve ever asked me what will be my ultimate dream vacation, it would have to be the Morroco country itself or an escape anywhere in the Mediterranean area, such as Santorini, Greece. But for now, I’ll take any get-away in the States, further away from the flat boring Midwest area possible. I didn’t get to spend the night at Kirakia last time due to our schedule and budget, but I’d love to have this experience the next time for sure. Per usual, we hopped in and out the place really quick and tried to keep it as low key as possible so that we wouldn’t get kicked out for taking photos without a license. Apparently, that’s a recurring theme wherever the location is well-known or photogenic in California. We got a few stares from the people who worked at Korakia, but thank God we were able to spend a decent time in their courtyard and absorb the Morrocan/Mediterranean vibe as much as possible.

Enjoy the photos:

I made a huge purchase on the ASOS website and successfully kept quite a lot of pieces for this trip. The red tea dress is actually from ASOS’s own label. It was in the size XS, but it was really loose on me for some reasons. I ended up returning the dress for that reasons after this trip. I had to use a hair tie to tie it at the waist in the back, and you can easily spot it at some for photos. But in reality, it was super loose on me. Regardless, I was so please with how the photos turned out. And the dress choice was a hit under the Palm Springs sun. I paired it with a new pair of espadrilles with string ties at the ankle. Espadrilles are e-v-e-r-y-w-h-e-r-e this summer. So don’t forget to pick up a pair or two and rock them with any denim and Ts or summer dresses before summer actually ends.

The straw bag trend is also spotted everywhere on Instagram, and any fashion bloggers would probably own at least a few. I just feel like the trend is copied or used way too much as I’m kinda tired of seeing it basically. I’d like to get one myself for the actually usage, for example a big and softer straw bags for my grocery run on Sunday market, or a small round shaped bag with longer strap for a night out in the summer. I will wait until the summer to be at almost its end and purchase one or two on sale, obviously to bring along to any warmer weather vacation spots or to use ’em next summer.

One fun thing we did while we were out in Palm Springs was to go house window-shopping. It was super hot and sunny, but we managed to take down some notes for exterior decor of our future home. Th eneighborhood was absolutely incredible to look at, well from the outside. it sounded creepy, but literally that what we enjoyed doing while travling or out and about.

Three more weeks until Hawaii guys!!! If you’re new to StyleAndSenses, welcome! I’ve said it in the last post, here, that I’ll be going to Hawaii the third week of August for my boyfriend’s sister wedding. We have a lot to plan still, but I’m just trying to contain myself and stay low keys as much as possible these weeks until the greatest escape of all time. Then September comes the biggest news that I’ll announce it here on the blog very soon! » Hint: it’s going to be rainy on the West Coast, but my heart will be full.

Thank you so much for reading! It is currently 5 am. I need to go back to sleep since I have been awake since 3 am trying to have this Tuesday blog post up before the morning. I’m sure you’ve seen it on my Instagram’s profile that I’ll be posting every Tuesday and Friday now. I don’t even know why I do that to myself because there’s a lot of commitment in terms of sticking to a certain schedule. It feels like I’m back to school with due dates and deadlines all over again, but I don’t mind it really. Ultimately, I’d love to turn this into a full-time career and be able to work for myself, producing fashion and traveling content, in hope to inspire you all to follow your dreams and passion. Come back soon for a Friday blogpost, meanwhile, you can catch me daily on Insta: @antrieu.
