Styling Retro Summer Shorts – 1 Piece 3 Ways

Happy summer solstice! I want this week’s blog post to be a little more easy and casual. With summer upon us, it’s time to burst out the old and add a few more short outfits to the rotation. Hit up the local thrift store or pick up some of my picks below. Note that you don’t have to spend a ton on a pair of comfortable and cute shorts!

For summer 2020, I recommend going for longer length utilitarian retro-styled shorts that are made from either cotton or linen. I love mine high waited, and for the summer, I always go for the light and pastel color palette. Go for a crop top or something light and loose on top, add sneakers or sandals, and don’t forget to accessorize your outfit per usual.

Outfit Idea 1:

Uniqlo linen shirt (light gray color, shown blue because of editing) | YSL bag | Nordgreen watch *gifted| Uniqlo U shorts | Everlane sneakers *gifted | Mejuri Editor earrings (10%

Outfit Idea 2:

Aritzia knit crop top | Suicoke sandals | Nordgreen watch | Uniqlo U shorts

Outfit Idea 3:

Totême shirt | thrifted shorts | Suicoke sandals | old Celine sunglasses | Nordgreen watch & canvas tote (*gifted)

Hope this post gives you some ideas on how to style summer shorts! Friendly reminder that the Ssense’s Spring-Summer sale is on it final days and things are currently up to 70% off. I’ve picked up this Marine Serre moon top when it went on sale for 35% off and this similar Acne scarf (mine is pink and camel color).

Keep dressing well and go follow your dreams!
