Happy Wednesday! It’s been a while since I last share a fashion post here on Style & Senses. Inspired by the sunny and warm days we’ve been getting in Seattle, I want to share with you a few beautiful outfit photos shot days before quarantine and walk you through a brief history of each brand. I hope to get you inspired and stay positive through this unknown difficult time.

1. RHODE

Founded by Purna Khatau and Phoebe Vickers, Rhode was born out of the love for travel, shared between the founders as well as many lovers of the brand. Rhode uses comfortable fabrics, beautiful colors and vibrant prints to create the essential vacation wardrobe.

SHOP RHODE DRESSES:

I am wearing the Fiona Wrap dress, easily one of the best dresses I’ve ever put on. I love the romantic ditsy floral print, the fit is amazing, and the overall shape compliments my body so well. It’s made from breathable mid-weight cotton voile featuring a V-neck, wrapped waist ties, and balloon sleeves. A perfect dress to wear to weddings, romantic dates, and any summer events near or far.

2. GANNI

Copenhagen-based brand Ganni is one of my absolute favorite Scandi-brands. Besides their colorful, fun, and cool designs, their affordable price points really make the brand attractive to younger fashion lovers, I included.

Founded in 2009, Ganni led by the husband and wife duo, Ditte Reffstrup and Nicola Reffstrup.

SHOP GANNI DRESSES:

The Ganni dress I am wearing here is currently on sale at Nordstrom, HERE, and it also comes in different prints (linked above). It’s made from 100% viscose featuring a mock neck, long sleeves with button cuffs, and a lined bodice. Here I’ve paired it with a pair of high ankled boots from COS and added a layer since it’s quite chilly that day.

3. ULLA JOHNSON

Ulla Johnson was born and raised in Manhattan. Her eponymous line, founded in 1998 after her college graduation, immediately caught the attention with its emphasis in natural fiber, artisanal, and bohemian design.

SHOP ULLA JOHNSON DRESSES:

Tom sent me the shoes to shoot and style (posted here), so I paired them with this gorgeous dress. It is called the Indah dress and made from 100% cotton. I love that the exaggerated balloon sleeves and the tiered skirt really work with the heavyweight cotton, all of which add to the vacay-ready vibe. Since the dress’s pink and green print is loud, I am simply letting it print and volume speak and pairing it down with black accessories.

4. RIXO

The London brand Rixo was founded by Henrietta Rix and Orlagh McCloskey in 2015. While Orlagh leads the design department, Henrietta is responsible for building the #HumansOfRixo community alongside directing all styling. Their vision is to create vintage-inspired pieces for modern women to wear anywhere and everywhere.

Monikh, one of my favorite London-based bloggers, has the style that screams Roxi vibes to me. If you’re looking for a brand that does great quality printed dresses to wear to any fancy occasion, Rixo is the one!

SHOP RIXO DRESSES:

I am wearing the Marie printed dress size 0. It’s made from 35% silk and 65% viscose with the square neckline, long balloon sleeves with fitted cuffs and a slit to the front. I am obsessed with the fit of this dress, and the smocked details really get my heart here!

5. APIECE APART

Apiece Apart is a NY label founded by Laura Cramer and Starr Hout, another female-founded duo. Starr previously worked as a stylist, and Laura was a graphic designer and art director, specializing in branding. The designer pair met in NYC while studying at NYU.

The line was conceived in their West Texas road trip with the idea of intermixing pieces that could be packed in a bag. Apiece Apart currently has 3 NYC stores: Soho, Tribeca, and East Hampton, and their pieces can be found in over 200 retail stores worldwide.

SHOP APIECE APART DRESSES:

Here I am wearing the Alta dress size 0 in Multi Bandhani Dot. It’s made from 100% soft cotton in India. My first impression of the dress is its impeccable fabric choice and all of its details. It’s light, flowy, and I feel very feminine in it. I can button all the way up or wear it undone, and I can cinch in the waist or let it flow. I love the slip is removable and the elevated tiered skirt makes it an undeniably dressy vacay-ready.

I hope you’ve enjoyed this blog post and the outfit photos. A few designers that are currently on my wishlist when it comes to resort wear, especially dresses are Zimmermann, Sir The Label, Jacquemus, Isabel Marant, Rejina Pyo. For affordable and fail-safe options, I suggest browsing Reformation, DÔEN, Faithful The Brand, and & Other Stories.

Comment if your favorite vacation-ready brands and let me know which outfit in this post is your favorite.
