Last weekend, my boyfriend and I did a quick road trip from Las Vegas to LA, San Francisco, Portland, and Seattle, so yes! we did 4 states in 3 days. Crazy I know! It’s been over a week, and I’m still recovering from the lack of sleep! This travel diary post will be divided into 2 parts, part 1 all about what we did, and part 2 would be about what I wore (of course, for your curious fashionistas!). Read on…
friday. dec 9: arrived at Las Vegas. stayed at the Excalibur. walked around the strip. had dinner at the Grand Lux Cafe in the Venetian.
favorites: night lights, the Venetian and the super fancy Bellagio.
saturday. dec 10: drove to LA. arrived at the Garden Grove area and had some bakeries at 85°C, had lunch at Garlic and Chive next door. stopped by Disney Land for 3 hours. had some bubble tea and a giant macaron at Snow Monster. watched Moana and waited for the traffic to die down. headed northern LA to the 626 area for some hotpots at the Boiling Point and bubble tea at Half and Half. stopped by LACMA. left LA. made it to the Aloha Inn in Arroyo Grande, northern CA at 4 a.m barely survived.
favorites: Disney Land, LACMA, and food!!!
scariest thing I’ve done in my life was probably the drive up north, through windy mountainous foggy and rainy roads, and made it to out hotel at 4 a.m. To be honest, it was one of my verve-wrecking experience I’d ever encountered in my life. Tips for y’all: never drive at night in the winter! It’s life-threatening unless you really want to, hah!!!
sunday. dec 11: headed northern Cali to San Francisco super early in the morning, driving through the west coast of California along the highway 1, made too many stops along the BIG SUR area: Pfeiffer beach and the Rocky Point AKA THE BEST VIEWS!!! had some late lunch at the Naked Lunch. stopped by the Ferry building for some oysters and a quick walk by the pier. stopped by TJ for some snacks and coffee. found ourselves hungry for some In N Out burgers in Redding, CA. stayed at the Commons Inn in Medford, Oregon.
favorites: of course the Big Sur, especially Pfeiffer beach which was hard to find. We had to ask a local and drove 2 miles down, again through windy road, paid $10, to get to the beach where there was purple sand and the famous beach.
monday, dec 12. had a few hours drive in northern California, had lunch at the food-truck Let’s Eat Thai food in downtown Portland, Oregon, and arrived at downtown Seattle, Washington. visisted the Pike Place market, the Gum wall, the first original Starbucks store, and the Space Needle. caught the fly from Seattle back to Minneapolis later that night!
wow, thanks for making it to the end of this super lengthy post. Part 2 of this trip will be up shortly. So stay tuned! Hope y’all staying warm and surrounded by loved ones! Happy holidays!
